How Scary Can a Haunted Hayride Be? Hanna Scary!

You may think of a hayride as some kind of sweet time with your kids, sitting in a hay-strewn wagon pulled by horses or a tractor, traveling across the corn fields in a fall family bliss.
However, in Indianapolis this Halloween season, Hanna Haunted Acres has brought new meaning to the term Haunted Hayride. This is not a fall hayride to bring your little ones to…unless you are “that” type of family! Hanna Haunted Acres brings terror to the farm in Indy like no other attraction.
Hanna absolutely has the best Haunted Hayride in Indy. Actually…the best in Indiana. People visit from all over the state plus Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and beyond to experience Hanna’s haunted hayride. Why? Because it is simply beyond compare. This mile-long tractor pulled wagon of terror travels through horrific scenes, past evil characters, plus more than a few chainsaw wielding creatures. You may even see Hanna herself on this hayride through the woods of Indiana (she found us!). Hanna Haunted Acres is known for its huge displays and animatronics. These are Universal Studios style scenes – like being on the set inside a Hollywood horror movie.

Hanna Haunted Acres is more than just a haunted hayride. It is an entire scream park of Halloween fun including 6 separate haunted attractions in addition to the hayride. These include Stalker Farms, a spooky trail through the cornfields to a seemingly happy farmhouse. But don’t stay too long or you will be the family’s meal! Vampires run wild at Bitten, a haunted attraction crawling with blood sucking fiends. Stop in to shop at the meat market, Cannibal Chaos, where “Your Flesh = Our Food!” Dark Echoes is a haunted woods inhabited by a cult of evil creatures. Finally, Freakshow is where terrifying clowns will do everything but make you laugh.
Coming fall 2025, there is a new extreme haunted house at Hanna…D.O.A., their 6th haunted attraction. This full-contact, fear-inducing event is a separate attraction from the rest of the scream park with a small admission fee. Best to keep this kind of experience on its own so those faint of heart can stay away, and it’s a no-go for kids. D.O.A. will be opening mid-season this year at Hanna. It will be Indy’s scariest haunted house by a long shot, so our Scary Overload team can’t wait to visit.

Getting scared is fun, right? That’s what Hanna is all about. A great night out with friends. That full night of revelry continues with a visit to Hanna’s carnival Midway, The Boneyard. This is a place to hang with your friends while you compete in traditional carnival games, plus shopping for spooky items and concessions including food and drinks at two separate bars for the 21+ crowd.
At Scary Overload, we love Hanna Haunted Acres. It is so much fun, and such a great value with everything it has to offer. The original haunted hayride in Indy, 5 separate haunted attractions, the new D.O.A. attraction, bars, food, spooky shopping, axe throwing, midway games. Need we say more? More bang for your buck and an entire night of entertainment for Indianapolis thrill-seekers.
