Then there’s the Zodiac, the Church of Satan, Jim Jones, and a few other assorted cults.
Now, there’s Insight. They’ll open ALL your eyes…if you survive their Initiation. Few do.
That, my friends, is the brand new show at the legendary Terror Vault! As always, the historic San Francisco Mint has been taken over and turned into the Terror Vault for the Halloween Season. The Terror Vault always presents a completely new show every year, interactive and immersive, using the oh-so-haunted 1874 Mint as their playground and stage.
The Initiation pays tribute to San Francisco’s history of cults by bringing an all-new group of evildoers to life, ready to initiate anyone who believes themselves to be Superior and ready to join the ranks. Of course, few are worthy, and failure comes with awful consequences. Will you pass the tests? Will you join Insight, or will you work covertly to stop them from their plans of domination?
Producer/Writer/Director Joshua Grannell (AKA Peaches Christ) tells me this one really leans into the horror, which is music to our gore loving ears.
He says, “This year’s completely new Terror Vault show “The Initiation” is inspired by San Francisco’s rich history of being home to so many strange and bizarre cults. From groups like the Manson Family to the Symbionese Liberation Army and people like Jim Jones and Anton Lavey, we’ve taken this inspiration and crafted a show where guests become members in the play and must make their way through becoming part of the cult while surviving its evil leadership.”
Returning this year is Fang Bang, the Bay’s only Vampire Bar! You’ll get sucked…in, to the festivities. The goth-club environs offer up vampire performances, dancing, drinks and nibbles…and you can translate that however you choose. And maybe, just maybe, an invitation to join the ranks of the immortal undead?
The best part is entrance to Fang Bang isn’t part of the Terror Vault experience, it’s free to anyone!

Also new this year is an RIP Experience with exclusive access to the Insight Vaults and a special barroom. Will this aid in your acceptance into Insight? Only the Bishops know…
Anyone who can get to the San Francisco area should make for the Mint ASAP and get into The Initiation. This limited show will absolutely blow your mind. It’s a unique experience for fans of haunted houses, horror fans, and theater fans alike.
