Midnight Terror – Oak Lawn

This year, subtle changes have been made as the overall plot of the haunt progresses and evolves. Silas, the Hollow Keeper, still resides over the old cemetery, but what’s he up to? Only Rotten Hollow will tell. Shadowtek Corporation remains in Malum’s old factory, you’ll have to see how their experiments are going. The Laugh & Slash Carnival has moved into the town along with the Sinister Sideshow Midway. The Artist’s Alley provides shopping for hand crafted spooky goods. For the younger folks, October 24th features a lights-on trick-or-treating experience with no scares, tons of fun, and special events! Fear Factory – Salt Lake City

The one, the only, the greatest, FEAR FACTORY hits the list again by continuing to be one of the absolute best haunts in the country. Fear Factory is always making new additions and new scares, and they are back and better than ever for 2026. All six buildings, all six floors, both underground tunnels, and a BRAND NEW midway are ready for you! The Midway is 10,000 square feet of fun, food, and drinks. The Dead End Haunted Hayride – Wyoming

We’ve reached the end…the DEAD END. The Dead End Hayride, just north of Minneapolis in Wyoming, MN, is back for 2026 with its biggest and best show yet. After a brief break, Texas’ own legend, Dark Hour, returns to the list of Top 13 Haunts! This haunted attraction has a reputation and lineage that can’t be beaten. The Rhode Island portal is no more…for now…but the good news is things have been combined so the Fright Park in Palmer is bigger and better than ever! It consists of seven different haunted attractions in one location, each with different themes and even different scare levels. They surround a midway area called, appropriately enough, Purgatory. You choose which order you enter the experiences, giving the whole thing a “choose your own adventure” feel where each visit is different. The choices are: The Swamp, Anubis Revenge, Asylum, Cirque Macabre, Haunted Mansion, Blood Harvest, and Wormhole. Can you guess the themes by the names? For the second year in a row, Tulsa’s HexHouse makes it on the list! One of the few haunted attractions in the country based on an actual incident, the legend of the HexHouse happened in 1944. It was a bizarre tale of mind control, hidden caskets, and the occult. Taking inspiration from this local legend, HexHouse began, evolving into a haunted attraction with three different experiences on site: the original HexHouse, The Experiment, and Haunted Overdrive. Brand new to the list this year, it’s Sweet Dreams Haunted Attraction down in Mobile, Alabama! Offering the best haunted experience in Alabama and Northern Florida, Sweet Dreams brings Hollywood level sets and effects together with high end design to craft an intense, terrifying experience. Rounding out the list this year is a returning haunt, the legendary Realm of Terror! This house packs a ton of entertainment into your night for a low price. Tickets are as low as $19.99! It starts before you enter the main haunted attraction. Before the haunt itself opens, there’s Terror Awakens, an opening ceremony where the cast gathers and kicks the night off in front of guests. There’s also Kristof’s Entertainment Center on-property, a full entertainment complex, where you can spend time having fun before or after your trip inside. Finally, there’s a huge midway with a Monster Museum, food, drinks, escape rooms, games, and a gift shop. Then there’s the haunt itself, a massive show sprawling across a huge interior full of the biggest cast and show they’ve ever put on. There are changes and updates throughout, giving even experienced ROT’ers a fresh scare! Realm of Terror has an accolade beyond all the awards it’s won over the years…it inspired a horror film, which was shot inside the haunt! Haunt Season came out in 2024 and was filmed at ROT.
