Touted as “Resident Evil meets Saw“, developer/publisher DeVoid Studio has announced a January 30 Early Access release for their upcoming survival horror title, Perished Truth. Combining the tension and deadly consequences of Saw with the horror and gameplay elements of Resident Evil, you can currently check out the demo for Perished Truth on Steam.
The story for Perished Truth centres on a man name Shinji Ueda, whose life was shattered after the death of his wife. Desperate to save his terminally ill daughter from sharing the same fate as her mother, he turns to the dark web for a cure. After opening a mysterious package, Shinji finds himself trapped on a deadly island and hunted by his past, with only one choice: survival. In order to survive, he must endure a series of twisted trials, where failure means death.
Featuring the classic fixed-camera and tank-control scheme, you’ll also have the option to switch to modernized control options and over-the-shoulder aiming. As you explore this forgotten island, you’ll scavenge and craft weapons and supplies, as well as face off against your fellow captives, some of whom have been infected with…something. You’ll need to solve environmental puzzles, unlock new paths, and piece together the truth behind your captors. You must do this all before time runs out, and you become one of the infected.
