One of the genre films that was set to world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this month was Egor Abramenko‘s sci-fi thriller Sputnik, which has now been acquired by IFC Midnight.
Deadline reports that IFC Midnight will release Sputnik in North America on August 14.
“The lone survivor of an enigmatic spaceship incident hasn’t returned back home alone—hiding inside his body is a dangerous creature. His only hope: a doctor who’s ready to do whatever it takes to save her patient.”
Oksana Akinshina, Peter Fyodorov, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Anton Vasiliev and Pavel Ustinov star in the Russian film. Andrei Zolotarev and Oleg Malovichko wrote the script.
