UK Distributor Second Sight Teases That They’re Bringing ‘Dawn of the Dead’ Back to Blu-ray
Oddly enough, George Romero‘s Dawn of the Dead is currently out of print and unavailable to stream here in the States, which is downright criminal. Over in the UK, the film’s Blu-ray releases are similarly out of print, so it’s kind of huge news that Second Sight announced just yesterday that they’re next setting their sights on the seminal zombie classic!
We don’t have any details at this time, but Second Sight made the announcement with a simple “It’s happening” tweet, which included an iconic piece of Dawn artwork.
From what we gather, Dawn is currently out of print because one of the rights holders won’t license it out for a reasonable fee, but sounds like Second Sight made magic happen.
For what it’s worth, some Second Sight releases are region free, so that’s always possible here.
