The next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will bring Blade into the mix with a brand new reboot, and Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali is taking over the vampire-slaying role.
Deadline reports tonight that Aaron Pierre (“Krypton,” “The Underground Railroad,” M. Night Shyamalan’s Old) has signed on to star alongside Mahershala Ali.
The Blade reboot’s cast will also include Delroy Lindo.
No word yet on character details for either actor. Stay tuned.
We don’t yet have a release date for the MCU debut of the beloved character, but Blade did make his presence known with a brief vocal cameo appearance in Chloé Zhao’s recent Marvel movie, Eternals. Stacy Osei-Kuffour (“Watchmen”) was recently brought on board to write the script, and Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) will be directing Marvel’s Blade reboot.
