Both “WandaVision” and “Loki” have set the table for a bizarre next stage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and who better to usher us into that wacky world proper than Sam Raimi? Releasing next year, Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be jumping headfirst into a sea of different timelines, and it’s said to be the MCU’s first “scary movie.”
Speaking at a recent Q&A (via Games Radar), star Elizabeth Olsen indeed promises that the finished product has ended up being “very scary,” which should please horror fans.
“It’s a very scary movie,” Olsen said. “It’s like old Sam Raimi. They’re trying to create the scariest Marvel movie.”
“Old Sam Raimi.” Now that’s music to our ears!
Production has wrapped on Multiverse of Madness, which will technically be Raimi’s first horror movie in more than 10 years and first Marvel superhero movie in nearly 15 years.
Xochitl Gomez (“The Baby-Sitters Club”) recently joined the cast as America Chavez, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Rachel McAdams.
Raimi’s return to the world of Marvel will release in theaters on March 25, 2022.
