Virgil Films Releasing the Documentary ‘Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street’ in March
An essential companion to franchise documentary Never Sleep Again, Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street is a wonderful documentary that hit the festival circuit last year, telling the story of Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge star Mark Patton and his own personal experience with the film’s reception and legacy. Bringing necessary context to the time period the 1985 film was made in, the doc offers a powerful and beautiful look at one man’s journey to set the record straight and rewrite the legacy of the horror sequel.
Deadline reports today that Scream, Queen! has been acquired by Virgil Films, and the company is set to release the documentary on both DVD and Digital in March 2020.
“Through interviews with the cast and crew of NOES2, as well as film and queer culture luminaries like Peaches Christ, directors Roman Chimienti and Tyler Jensen are unafraid to revel in the love and fandom that has grown for the film, while also confronting the heartbreaking and challenging realities that are part of its legacy.”
“At the center of it all is Mark Patton, a wonderfully gracious and honest man with an important story who is sure to win the hearts of all.”
