Director Matt Reeves announced on Twitter tonight (below) that John Turturro is the latest to join the cast of The Batman, playing Gotham mafia boss Carmine Falcone.
Falcone first appeared in 1987’s Batman: Year One, and the character was previously played on the big screen by Tom Wilkinson in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.
Robert Pattinson is playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in the movie, which will also star Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
Paul Dano is set to play the Riddler. Andy Serkis will be playing Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell is in talks to play the Penguin. Jayme Lawson will also star.
Reeves and Mattson Tomlin wrote the screenplay.
