Now that Media Molecule’s Dreams is out in Early Access for PS4 users to tinker with, one wonders why we haven’t gotten more recreations of horror games. As was the case with QuinnBarnett’s recreation of Dead Space. Luckily, a Reddit user known as Huknar has gone ahead and given us a tribute to a game that’s near and dear to our hearts: Silent Hill 2.
The scene in question is the opening shot of the game where protagonist James Sunderland has arrived in Silent Hill shortly after receiving Mary’s letter. Obviously, there are some missing elements from the original game, but it’s still a great recreation. And yes, you can joke that it looks a lot better than the “remastered” version that Konami tossed to fans a few years back.
Of course, all this does is painfully remind us that we probably won’t be getting a new Silent Hill game for a while, and that we’ll have to rely on mods to give us some consolation. Sad, I know.
