I’d imagine a fair few people reading this are planning to dress up for Halloween this year, and I’m sure plenty want to be rewarded for parading their costume about, so a competition that does just that should be particularly enticing.
Developer Retrotainment Games is giving away free Steam keys for its Kickstarter funded 8-bit beat em up game, Haunted Halloween ’86, and all you have to do is send them a snap of you in your costume this Halloween inserted into its specially chosen background (you can see an example below).
If you tweet the developer between 30-31 October with a pic of your costume, you’ll get a Haunted Halloween ’86 key for your trouble. One lucky entrant will even get a limited edition psychical version of the game on an NES cartridge that actually plays on an NES!
Here’s a brief look at what is required to enter.
– Take a photo of yourself in your Halloween costume
– Photoshop the image in the Haunted Halloween ’86 template (template can be found here)
– Tweet your image @RetrotainmentHQ with the hashtag #HauntedHalloween86 on October 30 or October 31st
– Lastly, follow @RetrotainmentHQ
You can also pick the game up on the Xbox Store for just $5 right now, with the Steam version set to be discounted from October 29 to November 1.
