Check Out Fun Collectible Photos That Were Going to Be Added to ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’

Nobody is more bummed about the end of new content for Friday the 13th: The Game than the game’s developers at Gun Media, who had been working hard on new content that was soon going to be arriving in the game. As we already knew, for starters, Jason X‘s “Uber Jason” was going to be added as a playable character, as was the Grendel spaceship map.

Sadly, no new content will *ever* be added to the game again, as a pending lawsuit between Sean Cunningham and Victor Miller has put the entire franchise on tentative hold. And when game developers aren’t allowed to create new content for a game for an extended period of time, well, the sad reality is that this is the end no matter how the case plays out.

The developers are literally unable to add ANYTHING new to the game, not even a rock or a tree, but Gun Media’s Wes Keltner did at least share something pretty cool today that they were *planning* on adding. Again, before we even dig in, we just want to make it crystal clear that what you’re about to see will sadly *never* be included in the game.

In addition to the Pamela Voorhees and Tommy Jarvis tapes that are currently hidden around the game’s maps, Gun Media was soon going to add Collectible Photos to the mix, which would’ve delved into the backstories of Pamela and Jason.

Keltner explains, “In these photos (found around in drawers, etc.) the subjects were going to focus on a young Pamela and young Jason. I wasn’t sure about doing this at first. Not about adding to the collectibles, more about the subject and theme of the photos. I was afraid that by showing these that we would be humanizing Jason too much. But the more I discussed this idea and the further into concepts we got with Rachael, the illustrator we were working with, the more I wanted to do it.”

He continues, “The idea here was to shed some light on the life of Pamela and Jason before the events of the first film. Back when Pamela worked at the diner and was then asked by the Christy family to come work at the camp. I was also interested in digging a little deeper into what life was like for a younger, more innocent Jason. Again, this is a delicate subject. So I used as much care as I could. We came up with a series of photos.”

Keltner shared two of those photos today, one showing a younger Pamela working in a diner and the other showing a young Jason in a Frankenstein’s monster Halloween costume…
