It’s been a long time coming, but Raw Fury and developer Lunar Software will finally be releasing their first-person sci-fi horror title ROUTINE on December 4 for the Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.

For those not in the know. ROUTINE originally began development way back in 2012, but fell into development hell due to development and financial issues until Raw Fury gained publishing rights back in 2022. Set on an abandoned lunar base designed around an 80s vision of the future, curious exploration turns into a need for survival when the base goes completely quiet. Searching for answers puts you face to face with an enemy who is certain the main threat is you. Discoveries lead to deeper unknowns, with pushing on through the only way out.

You’ll roam the base, searching for clues by utilizing your Cosmonaut Assistance Tool [C.A.T.], which can access critical terminals and navigate the environment. You can also use your C.A.T. as a weapon, but as a last defence, since using the C.A.T. drains battery power. Luckily, you can find spare batteries lying about the base.

However, with the threat of permadeath and the absence of first aid kits, you’d best rely on stealth and avoiding combat in order to survive. Making things even more precarious are the threats and environments within the levels, which are all partially procedurally generated.
