Following its premiere on January 26 as part of Sundance’s Midnights section, buzzy body horror Together has been acquired by Neon for a worldwide release.
Starring real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie (which puts a meta twist on the story, as you’ll see below), Together was written and directed by Michael Shanks.
An official logline reads:
With a move to the countryside already testing the limits of a couple’s relationship, a supernatural encounter begins an extreme transformation of their love, their lives, and their flesh.
Deadline, who revealed the news exclusively earlier today, report that bidding was hot, with all the major indie buyers (including A24) bidding for a shot.
Cast your eyes over Neon’s genre slate in the last year alone – Longlegs, Cuckoo, Immaculate and The Monkey, to name but a few – and you’ll see why their acquisition of Together is an exciting one for horror fans. Neon have already proved they can nail the marketing game, and getting big bucks at the box office for horror is a win for all of us.
Franco and Brie produced Together together, alongside Picturestart, Tango, 1.21 and Princess Pictures.
