Disney+ has released another sneak peek at Noah Hawley’s upcoming Alien: Earth series, this time with more Xenomorph footage and a little more fleshing out of the plot.

As we already know, Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis and Alex Lawther, is set 30 years before Ridley Scott’s Alien, and follows

“a mysterious space vessel [that] crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat”

Included in a preview of Disney+’s 2025 slate at the D23 convention in Brazil, the seven second Alien: Earth teaser expands on this, revealing that the aforementioned vessel “collected specimens from a far away moon. Monsters…”

Alien: Earth will be the first television series entry into the franchise that started in 1979 with Alien and most recently saw Fede Alvarez’s record-breaking Alien: Romulus released this year.

Scott himself is an executive producer on the project, and, in a recent interview with Screen Rant, spoke more on how Hawley’s vision is respectful of its source material:

I’ve created the pace visually for a while. I know exactly what I’ve done and how it has been influential, because I keep seeing it — ‘Oh, there’s me … there’s me…’ It was annoying initially, but now it’s amusing and healthy. Like [Hawley] has gone down that route and definitely respected the original Alien. And from that, I can’t hope for anything more other than to keep it alive. I don’t care what the platform is. I’m keen to go home and watch it. All these subjects are embalmed forever and that’s very healthy.

While today’s tiny teaser does explain a little more of the plot, hardcore Alien fans will surely be chomping at the bit to know how Alien: Earth fits in with Scott’s prequel films, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant

At the time of writing, Alien: Earth does not have a specific release date, but we’ll bring you news as we get it. Check out the teaser below.
