With releasing Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster later this week, Capcom has taken the opportunity for those who never did get around to playing the 2006 original a chance to catch up with a new story trailer.
For those who don’t know, in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, you are Frank West, a freelance journalist (who’s covered wars, you know?). When the town of Willamette, Colorado finds itself put under quarantine by the U.S. army, Frank smells a scoop and heads to the town via helicopter to investigate. Frank soon discovers the reason behind the quarantine: the town has been overrun by zombies. Landing at the only mall in town, Frank must find out the truth behind this incident before it’s too late.
Seeing as you’re stuck at the mall with time to kill before help arrives, you can roam the mall and kill zombies with a variety of implements. Or, you can rescue other survivors, and try out some new clothes while you’re at it. Just remember that under these extreme circumstances, it’s not just zombies, but psychopaths you’ll have to deal with as well.
Coming digitally to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series (with a physical version due out in November), Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster not only gives the original game a graphical upgrade, but also now features fully-voiced characters and auto-saving alongside some Quality of Life improvements.
