Some Ti West fans were under the impression that we’d be getting a MaXXXine trailer drop during the Superbowl — that moment never came. But we have good news for you this morning! With the MaXXXine release date just a few months away, we finally have our first official trailer. The story follows the events of X, centering on Mia Goth’s final girl, Maxine Minx, as she makes her way to Hollywood. Here’s the official synopsis:
In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.
What in the holy hell! Maxine vs. the Nightstalker!? And anyone else who gets in the way of her pursuit to the Hollywood A-list, because she is “a fucking movie star.” We know better than to mess with a woman in pursuit of her dreams, and honestly, Richard Ramirez had better watch his ass.
In April, we found out the cast of MaXXXine is absolutely freakin stacked with the likes of Kevin Bacon, Halsey, Michelle Monaghan, Giancarlo Esposito, Elizabeth Debicki, and Lily Collins joining Mia Goth in 1980s Hollywood. No doubt the neon-filled boulevard of broken dreams will provide plenty of opportunity for an absolute splatterfest.
Judging from that trailer, we are in for one hell of an ending to this trilogy. MaXXXine is in theaters July 5.
