Developer rose-engine is looking to separate itself from other survival horror fare with Signalis. Currently in development for a Steam release, the game utilizes a “pixel-based anime” aesthetic, while taking inspiration from classic survival horror fare such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
Signalis centres on the Replika known as Elster, who after crash-landing on a remote snow-covered planet, must search for her missing crew member. During her search, Elster wanders through the ruins of an abandoned underground labor camp, where she begins to experience surreal visions of cosmic horror and strange flashbacks. As the lines between reality and dream blur, Elster has to venture into the depths below the planet’s surface to learn what has happened to her and why.
No release date as of yet, but the title does have an official site. And, in a brief interview with Gematsu, rose-engine stated that they are planning to release Signalis on other consoles in the future.
