The coronavirus pandemic has led to major plan changes in regards to Disney, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, well, pretty much everything else, and we’ve learned today that upcoming sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been delayed like many films before it. Originally set for May 7, 2021, it’ll now release on November 5, 2021.
As we learned earlier this year, Sam Raimi is expected to direct.
Filming on the horror-oriented film had not yet begun.
Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Doctor Strange in the sequel, with Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Elizabeth Olsen also expected to reprise their MCU roles.
Jade Bartlett wrote the script, also being worked on by Michael Waldron.
