Once again, Lance McDonald has done his digging, and has restored more cut content from From Software’s Bloodborne. In a new video, McDonald has pieced together hidden, unused lines from the Vileblood Queen, which seemingly reveals a cut plotline for the PS4 classic.

For those not up on Bloodborne lore, Annalise, known as the Vileblood Queen, is an NPC can be found in Castle Cainhurst after first donning the Crown of Illusions. The Vileblood Queen is the last remaining descendant of the Vilebloods, which were a regal vampiric family with a tainted bloodline.

As you can see in the video, the Vileblood Queen still plays an interesting part in the game. When you first meet her, you are given the option to kneel before her. Not doing so results in her being annoyed by the disrespect. However, those who do bend the knee are presented with an option to swear an oath to the Queen, and thus joining the Cainhurst Vilebloods.

This is where things get interesting. Previous datamining efforts in the game have shown that there are unused dialogue options, and perhaps more interesting, a new voice actress for the Queen. McDonald was able to piece it together with files from the Alpha Version of Bloodborne, and the result creates new context and a totally different tone to the situation.

This is where things get interesting. The voice actress for the Queen is Jenny Funnell, who also voiced Doctor Iosefka. However, the cut lines were done by Evetta Muradasilova. Muradasilova also provided voices for The Plain Doll and Lady Maria of the Astral Tower Clock within the game. McDonald speculates that switch of voice actress isn’t only cosmetic. McDonald draws connections between the bloodline and background of the Dolls, the Vileblood Queen, and Cainhurst.

It’s quite fascinating, and for those craving more Bloodborne lore, this is definitely worth a watch. While we’re still waiting on that rumoured sequel, in the meantime, you can still spring for the upcoming board game based on Bloodborne.
