In all honesty, I was never into the Turok series on the Nintendo 64. I was still in the midst of Quake (and later, Half-Life) to be bothered. Plus I never liked that controller. But now, thanks in large part to Night Dive Studios, I was able to revisit the PC versions of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2, and I can see that I missed out on some pretty fun shooters from the late 90s. And for XBox One users, now they too can enjoy these remasters of retro gaming goodness.
That’s right, both Turok and Turok 2 are now available for $20 USD each for purchase on the Microsoft Store. As mentioned, these are the remasters of the original games. Night Dive have gone back and given the games a graphical overhaul, as well as tweaks in the controls and in the framerates. To get an idea of what this overhaul entailed, you can see the differences on the PC version here for Turok, and here for Turok 2.
Unfortunately, you can’t purchase the games in a bundle for the XB1, but hopefully Microsoft will rectify that in the very near future.
