Developer Bozó Attila Bertold has teamed up with publisher Akupara Games for a journey into dystopian horror with REPOSE. Set to release later this year on Steam, you’ll be exploring increasingly confusing and surreal areas as you make your way to the bottom of a seemingly abandoned facility in a game that harkens back to old-school dungeon crawlers with its pixel graphics and gameplay “methodically built to maximize tension and intrigue.”
It’s your first day at [the company.] Your job doesn’t seem so bad—the pay is decent, and your coworkers are… fine. You’ve been tasked with recovering damaged oxygen tanks scattered throughout the facility. Don’t ask what they’re for. Don’t ask where they came from. Aaron used to do the same job. Don’t ask about Aaron. Focus on Cynthia: She’s kind to you, isn’t she? Doesn’t she care? Yet you can’t shake the feeling that something sinister is at hand. And why are you always so tired?!
Every step counts in REPOSE. You’ll need to make considered decisions, as each step, shot and trap you set off drains your limited energy. That also includes fighting whatever it is that’s down here. You’ll need to outwit and outfight the creatures lurking in the facility, using your light to find them, and your axe to kill them. Though [the company] says that you probably won’t need it, you do have a handgun with you. Just in case.
