Samara Weaving Officially Returning For Radio Silence’s Sequel

Following rumours earlier this year that Radio Silence (Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin) were working on a sequel to Ready or Not, the news has officially been confirmed late last night by Deadline, with the extra exciting addition that star Samara Weaving is set to return.

Released in 2019, Ready or Not starred Weaving as Grace le Domas, newly married to Alex le Domas (Mark O’Brien), the heir of a multi-million dollar games company. Wedded bliss doesn’t last long when Grace discovers the rest of the le Domas family (a stellar cast which includes Adam Brody and Andie MacDowell) have a rather unorthodox tradition that sees Grace fighting for her life.

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Weaving confirmed she’d be back in a heartbeat to carry on the bloody story of Grace who – SPOILERS! – is now in full control of her ex-husband’s inherited millions after a delightfully bloody comeuppance:

“I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in…I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”

So what can we expect from Ready or Not 2? Plot details are still under wraps, but Radio Silence recently let slip to Entertainment Weekly that the script they’re developing is “an absolute f***ing banger”:

“It’s getting figured out. That’s what we’ll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f—ing banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it’s happening. That movie is truly the love of our creative lives in a lot of ways.”

Deadline report that producers on Ready or Not 2 are Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak, James Vanderbilt. EPs are Chad Villella, Tara Farney.

Upon its release, Ready or Not was a big hit for Fox Searchlight Pictures, generating a $28.7M domestic, $57.6M worldwide box office profit off a $6M production cost. With hordes of horror fans now considering it a darkly hilarious cult classic, there’s no doubt the sequel will do just as well, if not better.

We’ll bring you all the details on Ready or Not 2 as they come in!
