Sarah Michelle Gellar declined to return for I Know What You Did Last Summer due to her character being dead, but that’s wouldn’t stop her from appearing in another Scream movie.
“I tried to get in Scream [7]. Nobody wanted me,” the actress told ET at the premiere of her new film, Pretty Hurts. “They were bringing everybody back. I kept thinking I would get a call. I didn’t get a call.”
Gellar played sorority sister Cici Cooper in 1997’s Scream 2, in which she was stabbed an then thrown off a balcony by Ghostface.
“There’s a lot of people that died in all the Scream movies that are back. Skeet [Ulrich], [Matthew] Lillard,” she continues. “I’m just saying, I’m waiting for my call.”
Gellar is gearing up to reprise her iconic role as Buffy Summers in Hulu’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reboot pilot, which she’ll also executive produce.
