Following its April 25 theatrical release, survival horror Until Dawn, from director/producer David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation) and producer/writer Gary Dauberman (It, The Nun, ‘Salem’s Lot), is hitting Digital today with a ton of extras – we’ve got an exclusive, explosive clip from one of the ‘Practical Terrors’ featurettes today.
After hitting Digital today, Until Dawn will also release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on July 8.
The R-rated Until Dawn stars Ella Rubin (The Girl from Plainville), Michael Cimino (Annabelle Comes Home), Ji-young Yoo (Smoking Tigers), Odessa A’zion (Hellraiser), Maia Mitchell (Good Trouble), Belmont Cameli (Saved by the Bell) and legendary character actor Peter Stormare (Constantine), who played Dr. Hill in the original 2015 PlayStation game that the film is loosely derived from.
In Until Dawn:
One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the night again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
In our exclusive sneak peek at the ‘Practical Terrors’ featurette, Sandberg, Dauberman and Production Designer Jennifer Spence run down just exactly why the practical effects on display in Until Dawn feel far meatier than CGI ever could, as poor Odessa A’zion can attest while she’s absolutely soaked in blood and viscera.
