Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have today announced the Future Ruins festival, a first-of-its-kind of music festival featuring performances from genre legends such as John Carpenter, Goblin, Danny Elfman and more.
The day-long event, which sees “the world’s most influential film and television composers step out from behind the screen and onto the stage”, will take place on Saturday, November 8 across three stages at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, with tickets available starting Wednesday, May 21 at 12 p.m. PT.
Other highlights for genre fans include a performance of Howard Shore’s electric and seductive score for David Cronenberg’s Crash, and performances by Hildur Guðnadóttir (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple) Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein (Stranger Things), Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Candyman) and many more.
Here’s what Reznor has to say in an official announcement of the event:
“It’s about giving people who are, literally, the best in the world at taking audiences on an emotional ride via music the opportunity to tell new stories in an interesting live setting […] Every artist is a headliner, each with their own specially curated moment. Each artist is encouraged to take big swings and reimagine their work for a live audience,”
