Cyberpunk Stealth-Action Game ‘Steel Seed’ Now Available on PC, Consoles [Trailer]

Media and publisher Soft Source look to have you covered with the announcement of Bloodbreaker: Labyrinth of the Witch, a gothic action-platformer that will be debuting next month at PAX East with a playable demo.

Slated for release in 2026, Bloodbreaker: Labyrinth of the Witch is a a roguelite Metroidvania experience centring on Ayana Crimson – the ‘Bloodbreaker’ -a day-walking vampire with a taste for demon blood. When her brother is captured by the enigmatic white witch Brendowyn Sangrianon, Ayana must descend into the depths of the ever-changing Labyrinth, a place steeped in corruption and decay, to save her brother and uncover the truth about her family’s cursed lineage and Matthew’s uncontrollable powers.

Blending classic gothic aesthetics in its art style, eerie lighting, and a vibrant, saturated colour palette, Bloodbreaker naturally draws inspiration from the Castlevania series. The game adds a modern touch to appeal to contemporary audiences, with stylized character designs influenced by anime and manga art.

Bloodbreaker: Labyrinth of the Witch features fast-paced combat that encourages players to chain attack combos, dodges and unleash powerful abilities to defeat enemies. Using the Blood Ascension System, you will upgrade Ayana’s stats, unlock new abilities, and refine her combat skills to aid her survival. And seeing as Ayana is a vampire, you can use her vampiric abilities to consume weakened enemies to restore Blood Points, which can be used heal Ayana.

If you do fall in battle, Ayana’s collected Blood Orbs (which presumably are used for purchasing upgrades) manifest into what’s referred to as a Blood Remnant. To recover her lost power, Ayana can choose to battle the Blood Remnant. However, if you lose, those Blood Orbs are permanently lost.
