Filmmaker Adam Green (Frozen, the Hatchet franchise, Victor Crowley) returns with his first feature since 2017 with upcoming survival thriller The Ascent.
Deadline exclusively reports that The Ascent is the first title on the slate of Simple House Films’ new international sales arm, set to launch at next week’s European Film Market.
In The Ascent:
The picture follows a group of friends who arrive in Europe for a glamorous but daring destination wedding. The fun and games turn into a nightmare when they find themselves precariously suspended above shark infested waters and in a battle for survival.

Green has proved he has the chops to handle a tense survival thriller like The Ascent with 2010’s Frozen, which starred Shawn Ashmore, Kevin Zegers and Emma Bell as three friends stranded in a freezing chairlift after a day skiing. Add in sharks to that scenario and you’ve got a nail-biter for the ages.
