The latest addition to the growing Scream 7 cast has been announced this week, with Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) officially signing on.
Deadline first reported the news this afternoon.
Mckenna Grace is fresh off playing Phoebe Spengler in the two most recent Ghostbusters sequels, the granddaughter of iconic character Egon Spengler. Casting Grace in the role proved to be one of the best casting decisions the franchise has made in recent years, with Grace frequently stealing the show and becoming the most beloved member of the new cast.
Needless to say, she’s a smart addition to the Scream franchise cast as well. And with Scream V and Scream VI stars including Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera exiting the franchise, well, let’s just say the Scream saga is going to need some likable star-power going forward.
In addition to the Ghostbusters movies, Mckenna Grace has amassed an impressive resume in the past ten years. Her horror credits also include the Netflix shows “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “The Haunting of Hill House,” as well as Annabelle Comes Home and Malignant.
The cast for Spyglass’ Scream 7 also thus far includes Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott alongside Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) and Isabel May, with May confirmed to be playing Sidney Prescott’s daughter. Asa Germann also recently signed on.
The seventh installment of the Scream series will slash into theaters on February 27, 2026.
Courteney Cox is expected to return as Gale Weathers.
Original Scream writer Kevin Williamson will direct Scream 7. The film, which doesn’t yet have a title, was written by Guy Busick from a story by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick.
