A24’s gloriously nostalgic Y2K gets a brand new trailer today ahead of its December 6 release date – spike up those frosted tips, throw on a pair of cargo pants, pop your collar and get watching.
The coming-of-age horror comedy from director Kyle Mooney (Saturday Night Live, Spree) stars Rachel Zegler, It star Jaeden Martell, Julian Dennison, Chucky‘s Lachlan Watson, Alicia Silverstone, The Kid Laroi AND Fred Durst, so you know it’s as authentically early 2000s as it gets.
On the last night of 1999, two high school juniors crash a New Years Eve party, only to find themselves fighting for their lives in this dial-up disaster comedy.
Written by Mooney and Evan Winter, the dial-up disaster comedy was produced by Winter, Jonah Hill, Matt Dines, Alison Goodwin, Chris Storer and Cooper Wehde.
Weta Workshop, the FANGORIA Chainsaw Award-nominated team behind everything from The Lord of the Rings to Sting, also worked on effects for the film, presumably the killer robots that today’s new trailer gives us a peek at.
Between Y2K and this year’s Time Cut, it looks like the aughts revival is in full swing and we’re here for it, even if it does make us feel 100 years old.
Catch Y2K in theaters on December 6 and dial up your modem to watch the brand new trailer below:
