Bruce Goodison’s Black Cab drives onto Shudder later this week on November 8, and we’ve got an exclusive clip of star Nick Frost in action as a truly psychotic driver to get you hyped.
Black Cab, which had its World Premiere earlier this month at Manchester’s Grimmfest, stars Frost, Synnøve Karlsen and Luke Norris, with a screenplay by David Michael Emerson and Virginia Gilbert.
When Anne (Karlsen) and Patrick (Norris) hail a black cab after a night out their driver (Frost) is chatty, jovial even, but they are in no mood to talk. In fact, the couple is barely on speaking terms. That is, until they realize the driver has no intention of taking them home.
Locked in the cab with no means of escape, the driver transports the couple to a stretch of deserted and supposedly haunted road. But what is his purpose? Is he mad or just plain evil? And why has he selected Anne and Patrick as his victims?
Black Cab sees the usually-hilarious Shaun of the Dead star cut a terrifying character and, while the dark humor is still there, this is Frost as you’ve never seen him before.
In a recent interview with ComingSoon, Frost expressed his excitement in stepping out of the comedic roles he’s usually known for:
It was the chance to be — or, at least, for the first ten or fifteen minutes, to appear to be a jovial ‘ole Nick Frost character, lots of fun. Then, it becomes a little more sinister.
And sinister he is – Black Cab is one thrillride you don’t wanna miss. Check out our exclusive clip below, and watch the horror on Shudder on November 8.
