It’s Friday the 13th and Art the Clown just couldn’t let this day pass without making his presence known. Heck, if Jason Voorhees isn’t going to show up and do this thing, another slasher icon should, right? To that end, the folks at Bloody Disgusting have unveiled a brand new poster for Terrifier 3 ahead of its rollout in theaters next month. This poster pulls precisely zero punches, showcasing lots of gore, as well as the film’s Christmastime setting. Check it out.
The poster is exceptionally gory, making it clear that director Damien Leone is pulling precisely zero punches this time around. It’s got a chainsaw. It’s got a face with no skin on it. That face is being used as a bib by Art. It’s got a little bit of everything for those who have come to enjoy what violent delights this franchise has to offer. Those in attendance at this year’s Fantastic Fest will be among the first to see Terrifier 3, as the sequel is one of the headliners of this year’s festival. So we should be getting reactions to Leone’s latest very soon.
While there was a six-year gap between Terrifier and Terrifier 2, the creative team made quick work of this latest installment. Terrifier 2 became a surprise breakout success in 2022, taking in more than $15 million at the box office against a mere $250,000 budget. As a result, Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting and Screambox were quick to get Leone back for another sequel. And they are going all out for the third installment, even bringing Terrifier 3 popcorn buckets to Cinemark. What a time to be alive. Here’s the brief logline for the upcoming sequel:
“Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) is set to unleash another round of chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.”
Aside from Thornton once again reprising his role as Art, the cast includes familiar faces such Lauren LaVera (Sienna), Samantha Scaffidi (Victoria Heyes), Elliot Fullam (Jonathan Shaw) and Chris Jericho (Burke). New cast members include the likes of makeup effects legend Tom Savini, Jason Patric (The Lost Boys), Antonella Rose (Fear the Walking Dead), Krsy Fox (Allegoria), Clint Howard (Ice Cream Man), Jon Abrahams (House of Wax) and Daniel Roebuck (Final Destination) as Santa Claus.
Terrifier 3 is set to hit theaters on October 11. For more, check out our list of horror movies you can see in theaters this weekend.
