Takashi Yamazaki‘s Godzilla Minus One hasn’t yet finished its reign, as the kaiju epic is stomping back into UK and Ireland cinemas almost a year after its original release, in both its color and monochrome Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color version.

Anime Limited and Toho confirmed the news today in a press release, as well as teasing that Godzilla Minus One is also getting a physical media release in the UK and Ireland as a 4K Collector’s Edition, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD, “in time for the holiday season.” An exact release date is yet to be announced.

Incase you didn’t catch Godzilla Minus One during its original theatrical run, or now that it’s streaming on Netflix:

In postwar Japan, Godzilla brings new devastation to an already scorched landscape. With no military intervention or government help in sight, the survivors must join together in the face of despair and fight back against an unrelenting horror. From renowned director, screenwriter & VFX visionary Takashi Yamazaki (The Eternal Zero, Stand By Me Doraemon) comes Godzilla Minus One, a film about the power of home in the face of despair.

Starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Sakura Ando, Minami Hamabe and Hidetaka Noshioda, Godzilla Minus One was a gargantuan success both in its native Japan and overseas, even winning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects – the first non-English language film in Oscar history to do so.

Need we remind you: Godzilla Minus One made a hugely impressive $107 million worldwide, including nearly $57 million in North America. The movie was originally supposed to play for just a week in the States but due to sheer demand and strong word of mouth, Toho decided to screen the film for months longer.

At the UK and Ireland box officeGodzilla Minus One was also a hit, grossing $3.2 million and opening in second place after Wonka.

While we don’t yet have an exact release date for either the theatrical or physical release, keep an eye out on Anime Limited’s socials for more information.
