After dropping details a few months back for what’s to come for Dead by Daylight (including the arrival of Lara Croft as a new Survivor), Behaviour Interactive has followed through and then some. Not only is Lara Croft available today in the game, but we also now have a release date for the much-anticipated 2v8 Game Mode, and a release date for The Casting of Frank Stone!

For starters, Lara Croft is now available in Dead by Daylight as part of Tome 20: MYTHIC. Lara introduces 3 new Perks–Finesse, Hardened, and Specialist–into the game, each of which underscores her skills as an athlete, adventurer, and archeologist respectively. Meanwhile, the new Tome includes new memories for Yui Kimura and The Spirit, an ominous new Outfit for Lara Croft, and much more.

Meanwhile, the 2v8 Game Mode will be arriving in Dead by Daylight on July 25. For the first time ever, 2 Killers can team up to hunt 8 Survivors, delivering a fresh and frantic take on gameplay for seasoned players.

2v8 Trials will take place across 5 classic Maps, each of which has been expanded. Generators have also been doubled, with Survivors now needing to repair 8 of 13 to escape. Hooks and Perks have been jettisoned in a bid to keep the action flowing. Downed Survivors are now instead sent directly to Cages, while Survivor Perks are replaced with a new class system designed to encourage teamwork. Instead of Classes, Killers will receive alterations to their Powers, as well as a crucial team-based ability to amplify the havoc they can wreak as a duo.

Dead by Daylight will also be having a time-limited party mode event from July 25 to August 8 to celebrate.

Cross Progression is also being introduced, which will be available on July 22. The much-requested feature allows players to sync their progress and purchases across platforms. In order to take advantage, all you’ll need is a Behaviour Account, and to own the base game on whichever platforms you wish to play. Dead by Daylight’s website and social channels have also shared a chart outlining all platform specifics, as well as an in-depth FAQ for players looking for further details.

Lastly, The Casting of Frank Stone set to officially release on September 3, 2024. Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game are now available for pre-order, along with the reveal of a new trailer centered around “Murder Mill”, the homemade horror film at the heart of the game’s narrative. Shrouded in mystery and urban myth, each time the film was screened, the audience would be overtaken by rabid, murderous impulses… or so the story goes.
