Happy Longlegs release day to all who celebrate! Once you’ve had your day ruined by Osgood Perkins‘ hugely anticipated serial killer thriller, you can pre-order the official soundtrack today to haunt your sound system.
Released by Mutant, in conjunction with Milan Records and NEON, Longlegs‘ original soundtrack was composed by the mononymous Zigli.
If for whatever reason you have missed the last few months of NEON’s incredibly effective marketing, Longlegs follows Maika Monroe as FBI Agent Lee Harker, who finds herself tasked with tracking down Nicolas Cage’s serial killer.
More info on the nightmarish soundscape reads:
As disturbing and all-consuming as a nightmare, LONGLEGS required a soundscape as gripping as its onscreen story, prompting Zilgi to craft a palette of dark, foreboding synth work, warped instrumentation and subliminal sound design elements. Working closely with sound designer and editor Eugenio Battaglia, who contributes two tracks to the album, the resulting soundtrack is unsettling, uncomfortable and utterly riveting. Zigli has crafted a genuinely terrifying listen that mixes soundscapes, electronics, and discordant rock to create a portal to hell that will stay with you long after the needle leaves the record. Hail Satan.
Mutant also let us know that the package design is by Greg Ruth & Mutant co-founder Spencer Hickman. Mutant’s exclusive color-way is pressed on 140gm Red and Black smoke vinyl and a bonus sealed envelope from Longlegs himself (!!!) The soundtrack is also available on solid red vinyl.
