‘Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition’ Delayed for Consoles, Still Arriving on PC Next Week
While PC gamers will be able to jump into the remastered goodness of Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition later this month, console owners will now have to wait longer to join the H.U.N.T.. Originally scheduled to arrive on July 31 with the PC version, Apogee Entertainment, New Blood Interactive and Nightdive Studios have made the decision to delay the game’s release on Playstation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch to “later this year”.
While no reason was given for the delay in the press release, according to New Blood’s Dave Oshry on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, the delay is due to “some [certification] issues (silly stuff) on consoles”. He elaborated saying that the delay shouldn’t “be more than a few weeks”, but as a result, the developers couldn’t commit to a hard release date.
A remaster of the 1994 cult classic from the minds behind Wolfenstein 3D, Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition puts players as a member of H.U.N.T., an elite squad of special forces and investigate mysterious activity off the California coast and unravel the mystery of the Triad cult. You’ll select from one of five operatives, each with their own hit points, speed and accuracy statistics, and blast a path back to Los Angeles.
For those who can’t wait until next week to experience Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition, you can still download the demo via Steam.
