New Story Trailer for ‘Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord’ Details New Villain, New Ghostbusters HQ [Video]
We’ve been waiting on just when exactly we’ll be able to suit up with our Proton Packs in nDreams and Sony Pictures Virtual Reality’s Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord ever since it was announced last June. Sony Pictures Virtual Reality has now narrowed down the release date to Fall 2023, along with the release of a new story trailer.
Debuting during the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, the story trailer for Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord details just who exactly is the Ghost Lord, along with showing off the Ghostbusters’ new San Francisco HQ.
“Who is the Ghost Lord? Why is he in San Francisco? And why is he obsessed with the Ghostbusters? Fans have been asking us about Ghost Lord since we announced the name of the game, so we’re happy to finally share more about this supervillain that expands the Ghostbusters universe,” says Jake Zim, Senior Vice President, Virtual Reality, Sony Pictures Entertainment. “In our newest story trailer, players will begin to unravel the mystery of Ghost Lord along with tons of easter eggs that should be familiar for fans of the Ghostbusters franchise. The fate of the city, and the Ghostbusters’ legacy, lie in the hands of players who ain’t afraid of no ghost.”
Developed by VR developer and publisher nDreams and published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality, Rise of the Ghost Lord will see players step into the boilersuits of a new cast of characters at the start of their journey running their own ghost-busting headquarters out of San Francisco. Legendary locations in the city such as the Golden Gate Bridge will be brought to life across an extensive and engrossing campaign where players can go solo or team with up to three friends in co-op to stop the powerful Ghost Lord and his band of malevolent ghosts from causing chaos throughout the city.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord is currently being developed for the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and PlayStation VR2.
