Described as a Lovecraftian viking adventure, The Fold: Ingression is the newest title announced by newcomer devs Audvyr Studio, which was founded by one of the creators of 2016’s Through The Woods. Set for release on PC via Steam, The Fold: Ingression doesn’t have a release date yet, but if that description doesn’t catch you attention, then what will?
The game is set in Norway where you, the protagonist, have been hired for a job at an old stave church. As you might expect, increasingly “difficult situations” arise, and no matter how much you want to run away, you quickly get bound to the place. The story and scenery are based on Norwegian legends, Norse mythology and, of course, supernatural horror elements from the Lovecraft universe.
Ingression is the first instalment in the The Fold universe, which will take the player on an introduction to the ones called ‘The Fold’ and their mysterious ancient worlds.
