Sadly, while we still haven’t gotten anything close to an announcement regarding the return of the Silent Hill franchise (despite that “too good to be true” rumour a few weeks back), fans are once again coming to the rescue. In this case, 3D artist and animator Hoolopee (who also created a PS1 demake trailer for Death Stranding) has built a concept trailer for a VR version of Silent Hill 2.
Composed of the actual assets from the original Silent Hill 2 game with new models made in Blender, the VR concept trailer reimagines some of the more iconic moments from Silent Hill 2 through the eyes of James Sunderland. The player character can be seen checking his map, fighting a Lying Figure, solving puzzles, and fleeing from Pyramid Head.
In what appears to be a way to get around going into an inventory screen, James’ inventory instead appears over his arm. Furthermore, the solution to the hospital drain puzzle, the combined hook and hair item, is now a physics-based puzzle.
Oh, if it were only a real game…
Props to RelyonHorror for this one.
