Universal has all sorts of interesting monster projects in the works now that their “Dark Universe” is no more, kicking off with Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man this month and continuing with Paul Feig’s Dark Army, Dexter Fletcher’s Renfield, and Elizabeth Banks’s The Invisible Woman. Additionally, Deadline reports that a film titled Monster Mash is in the works.
Matt Stawski (“Side Effects”) will direct the “original musical film,” written by Will Widger. Stawski, a Grammy nominated music video director, will make his feature debut with the film.
“The idea is being kept close the vest,” Deadline notes, making us wonder if it’s based on Boris Pickett’s classic novelty song or if the film is only pulling its title from the song.
