Earlier this year, our own Drew Dietsch wrote up an article in praise of Ernest Dickerson‘s Bones, raving that the Snoop Dogg-starring horror film from 2001 “deserves a cult following.” Drew explained, “It’s such a gonzo celebration of the audacity of horror and it deserves to be appreciated like other flawed but ultimately fun flicks in the genre.”
Well it looks like Drew is getting his wish, as Scream Factory has announced today that they’re bringing Bones to Blu-ray early next year, specifically on March 31st, 2020!
The time is 1979. Jimmy Bones (Snoop Dogg) is respected and loved as the neighborhood protector. When he is betrayed and brutally murdered by a corrupt cop (Michael T. Weiss), Bones’ elegant brownstone becomes his tomb. Twenty-two years later, the neighborhood has become a ghetto and his home a Gothic ruin. Four teens renovate it as an afterhours nightclub, unknowingly releasing Jimmy’s tortured spirit.
It’s thrills and chills when Jimmy’s ghost sets out to get his revenge.
Extras will be announced at a later date.
