Cinestate and Fangoria’s next horror project is set to be the exorcism film The Seventh Day, Deadline reports, with writer Justin P. Lange directing and Guy Pearce set to star.

The film is being described as “Training Day meets The Exorcist.”

A renowned exorcist teams up with a rookie priest for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge.

Dallas Sonnier (Dragged Across Concrete) and Amanda Presmyk (VFW) are producing for Cinestate and Fangoria, alongside Kimberly Hwang (Lucky) and Chelsea Davenport.

Executive producers include Nicolas Chartier, Jonathan Deckter, Adam Donaghey (A Ghost Story), Phil Nobile Jr (Horror Noire) and Danielle Cox (The Standoff At Sparrow Creek).
