The Japanese app NESiCAxlive2 has inadvertently leaked an upcoming DLC character for SNK’s revival of Samurai Showdown. The app, which is a digital distribution system for arcade video games, displays random characters from the game on its login screen. One user accidentally happened upon a picture of Sogetsu Kazama when logging in. After several more attempts, the user was again able to get Sogetsu’s picture to appear.
And in case there were any doubts, Samurai Shodown producer Yasuyuki Oda retweeted the discovery made by a user.
Sogetsu isn’t part of the current season of character DLC, which includes Rimururu, Shizumaru Hisasme, Basara (who was released earlier this month), Kazuki Kazama and Wan-Fu. A second season will be available, but the only confirmed character for that season is Mina Majikina.
Samurai Shodown is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One worldwide. A Switch verison is due out on December 12 in Japan. A PC version is also planned for release.
