[Exclusive] Check Out the Bloody Art for Vinegar Syndrome’s “Gore Cut” Release of ‘Tammy and the T-Rex’!
When it was released back in 1994, Tammy and the T-Rex had a PG-13 rating attached to it, but what many didn’t know at the time was that it was originally conceived as a gory, rated “R” affair. For the first time ever, the newly unearthed “gore cut” of the film was recently screened at Cinepocalypse, and up next it’s headed to Blu-ray courtesy of Vinegar Syndrome!
Vinegar Syndrome‘s new 4K restoration of the rated “R” version of the film is playing at Fantastic Fest, with the Blu-ray being released as part of their Black Friday sale in November.
Vinegar Syndrome’s Blu-ray will feature all new art created for the release by Tom “The Dude Designs” Hodge, and you’ll find it exclusively here on Bloody down below!
Hodge told us, “I wanted to create something that had the same crazy edge as the film. So I made this piece as mix of part cheesy, ’90s kids film, ‘Drew Struzan’ style (I had great fun playing around with the title designs) and then part bloody, gore filled, exploitation, classic B-movie monster vibe… Its literally fun for all the family!”
In the Stewart Raffill-directed Tammy and the T-Rex, starring Denise Richards as Tammy and an animatronic dinosaur as, well, the T-Rex, “An evil scientist implants the brain of Michael, a murdered high school student, into an Tyrannosaurus. He escapes, wreaks vengeance on his high school tormentors and is reunited with his sweetheart Tammy.”
The late Paul Walker also starred in the sci-fi/comedy, which now features 10 minutes of spectacular gore effects by the late John Carl Buechler… as originally intended!
