In another out of left field moment today, someone over at Nintendo’s UK site appears to have jumped the gun and revealed prematurely that the original 1993 DOOM, DOOM II and DOOM 3 are out now on the Nintendo Switch!
I say ‘prematurely’ because no sooner had they appeared on the Nintendo eShop, they’ve disappeared. Given that id and Bethesda are in the midst of celebrating the “Year of DOOM“, and the upcoming DOOM Eternal is taking over this year’s QuakeCon, was this meant for a QuakeCon reveal?
Regardless, they’re back now, and it’s another win for Switch users, who will soon have access to the entire DOOM franchise, complete with all of the expansions and multiplayer goodness.
DOOM Eternal is due out this year for the Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
