So, we’re getting a new Turok game this month, which is great news as we’re starved for dino-slaying action. You might feel this is a bit of a Monkey’s Paw situation though as this Turok is very much a departure from its blood-spattered origins.
Turok: Escape From Lost Valley, from Pillow Pig Games and Universal Studios Interactive Entertainment, takes the dinosaur hunter into a squashy cartoony visual aesthetic and shifts the action to an isometric perspective, but it does still feature dinosaurs and arrow-shooting at least.
Potential grumbles aside about the shift in tone, this Turok does look pretty cool and ever so slightly adorable. It’s due out on July 25 via Steam.
