After having a World Premiere at Sundance Film Festival (read our review) and UK / Ireland theatrical run earlier this year, the Emerald Isle folklore chiller The Hole In The Ground is finally getting a physical release on home soil. This coming Monday sees the home entertainment Blu-ray and DVD via Vertigo Releasing.
The region free disc is bound to look stunning as Tom Comerford‘s cinematography captures the rural beauty of Kildare, Wicklow and Dublin as the sinister backdrop to the mother and son nightmare.
Take a look at the new key art along with the included bonus featurette, “Inside The Hole in the Ground.”
13 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with talented first-time director Lee Cronin and his cast and crew. A fascinating insight into the pre-production and filming process of The Hole In The Ground.
If you’re left with any burning questions you can ask the director over on Twitter.
“Sarah and her young son Chris move to a new home in the Irish countryside, next to a forest that hides an enormous sinkhole. One night, Chris vanishes, and when he reappears he seems unharmed and unchanged. But, as his behavior grows increasingly disturbing, Sarah begins to fear that the boy who has returned may not be her son at all.
“The Hole in the Ground weaves suspense, terror, and supernatural folklore into a richly evocative story about the primal fears of motherhood.”
