Despite the comparisons to Dark Souls, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja’s Nioh could still stand on its own, despite the so-so story. Well, after shipping over 2.5 million copies worldwide, the Irish samurai is back in Nioh 2, which is having a closed alpha test from May 24th to June 2nd.
According to Team Ninja in a tweet, the test is “to help gather feedback for the development. To ensure the team can manage the feedback, there are no plans to expand the alpha at the moment, but please keep an eye on our channels for more info in the future.”
Some players involved in the alpha have streamed some of the gameplay, which you can find below. On top of that, Koei Tecmo have released a new gameplay trailer for the game, which you can also find below.
Nioh 2 is set for release “sometime in 2019” for PlayStation 4.
