Don’t make Ma drink alone.
Opening the same night as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Universal and Blumhouse’s thriller stars Oscar winner Octavia Spencer as Sue Ann, a lonely older woman who opens her basement up to the new teenager in town (Diana Silvers, Glass) so she can party with her new friends.
We have four clips from the film, all which build the mystery behind Sue Ann’s motives. In one clip, we see how Sue Ann builds the teens’ trust by hooking them up with a bunch of booze – “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” Then there’s an interesting interaction with Silvers and Juliette Lewis, before we see a piece of footage from later in the film when the teens are getting creeped out by Ma’s advances – “Girl, you need a man.” Lastly, a spoiler-y bit that’s been in several trailers and images in which Sue Ann has teo of the kids held captive.
Is this revenge or is she just psycho? I guess we’ll find out when Ma opens in theaters May 31st.
